MG Hector bookings to commence from 4 June.

There have numerous leaks and spy photos that have brought forth in the front of the public the details of the upcoming Hector SUV from the Chinese-owned British brand Morris Garage. The launch of the SUV is scheduled to take place in June and the brand also presented the SUV a few weeks ago. Now there are reports that the newly established dealerships of the brand will soon begin taking bookings of the upcoming SUV from 4 June. While the price of the SUV will be unveiled sometime in June or the beginning of July.

As of now the brand is focusing on having multiple outlets in a major city under just one dealership, the current dealership count of MG in India stands at around 50 outlets. The brand is also not focusing on a rapid expansion of the outlets, rather the company will focus on the customer experience through the dealerships. However, the brand is indeed targeting an expansion of around 300 dealerships by the next five years. As of now, the brand currently has 120 touchpoints for its customers that come under the network of 50 dealerships in the Indian market. MG is also targeting expansion of these 120 touchpoints to 250 outlets by the end of the current year. This will help the brand in customer penetration and will also make MG an established name in the market. Apart from MG Motors’ touchpoints, customers can also book the Hector SUV online via the official website of the brand. The first showroom of the MG Motors will be inaugurated in Delhi on 4th June itself.

Upon launch the MG Hector will take on the likes of Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier, and Jeep Compass in the Indian market. The company is also planning to bring out a 7 seater version of the MG Hector in the future, upon launch this 7 seater will lock horns with cars like the upcoming Tata Cassini. Talking about the upcoming MG Hector, it has a very imposing look in the streets and has a massive street presence. The major reason behind this is the size of the SUV. Upon launch the Hector will take the crown of the largest SUV in the segment. However, the street presence that the SUV commands can also be attributed to its design as it has the same futuristic design that has kind of become a trend in the car industry lately.

It was expected that the upcoming Chinese-owned British brand will stuff the Hector SUV with features to the brim and now the company has presented the car’s features and exterior looks in an official capacity. The package includes many segment firsts and segment leading points. Perhaps the major attraction is the iSmart system that offers cloud based connectivity in the Hector. MG Hector will come with an inbuilt Airtel eSIM with the upcoming SUV ready to adopt the 5G technology. This extremely advanced feature will equip the MG Hector to get updated via the eSim, just like the technology used in the smartphones. iSmart technology will be a standard feature of all the upcoming MG cars in the future. The upcoming MG Hector will also be equipped with a 10.8-inch portrait-oriented infotainment system featuring a few pre-installed apps and a 7 inch driver LCD display .

As far as the engine options for the MG Hector are concerned, the upcoming Chinese owned British brand SUV will come equipped with two engine options. The first will be a 1.5L liter turbocharged petrol and the other a 2L Fiat Multijet turbocharged diesel, the latter being the same one found on Compass and Harrier. The outputs for petrol engine will be 143 Bhp-250 Nm whereas the diesel engine is supposed to produce 170 Bhp of power and 350 Nm. MG will also offer a 48V hybrid system as an optional feature with the petrol variants. Also, the petrol variants also get 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission as an option.
