MG Motors is almost ready with their operations in the Indian car market and they will be commencing the sale of their products by June this year. The first product to make its debut for India will be the MG Hector SUV which has been officially teased by the carmaker and recently spotted by us in a camouflage wrap which reveals some details about the upcoming SUV.
The styling of the Hector will be sharp and modern having the proportions of a typical SUV. The front profile will get a large grille and sleek headlight cluster along with LED DRLs. There will be sizeable alloy wheels on offer to improve the presence of the car on road. MG Motors will offer both petrol and diesel engine options along with manual and automatic transmission options.
Based on the Baojun 530, the MG Hector will compete with the likes of the Mahindra XUV500, Tata Harrier, Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass in India. The new SUV is expected to be bigger in size compared to its rivals and will be offered with an aggressive price tag. MG Motors is targeting 75 percent localisation in India to get the pricing right.
