Coronavirus outbreak has taken a toll on everyone thus leading to a 21-day lockdown across the country. The decision of lockdown has been taken by the government with an aim to break the infection transmission chain. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, many businesses have come to a standstill. MG Motor India, one of the recent entrant in the Indian Auto industry has come forward to provide all sorts of help to combat the ongoing battle against coronavirus.
MG Motor India recently announced that it will donate Rs 2 crore to government hospitals and health institutions in Gurgaon and Halol in Gujarat. The carmaker’s manufacturing facilities are located in both places. The plant is located in Halol in Gujarat while its corporate office is located in Gurgaon. According to MG Motor, Rs 1 crore will be contributed directly by the company. The rest Rs 1 crore will be donated by the employees of MG Motor to fight the coronavirus pandemic that has led to a 21-day lockdown across the country.
However, the contribution made will not be in the form of cash. The contribution will come in the form of gloves, masks, ventilators, medicines, beds, etc, depending on the particular requirement of the specific government hospitals and health institutions providing medical assistance in Gurgaon and Halol in Gujarat. Apart from this, the carmaker has also advised their dealers to ensure enhanced insurance cover for around 5,000 employees across the country.
