MG6 XPower Makes its Global Debut

MG6 XPower is the first production version under the MG XPower concept

The British automaker, MG Motor has revealed MG6 XPower globally. It is basically the first production car under MG’s XPower sports brand. The four-door sports coupe pays tribute to the brand’s racing heritage from its past. 

Cosmetically, the MG6 Xpower features an ultrawide body design with an aerodynamic body kit. On the sides, the car gets Michelin Pilot Sport CUP2 tyres. The rear end boasts of ‘X’ shaped blackened tail-lights and a massive carbon fibre spoiler. The double pneumatic diffusers give the car a sporty appeal. Furthermore, the four-door sports coupe gets a unique ‘X’ family customization logo on sports seats, centre armrest, side skirts, and the door sill. It also provides each owner with a limited-edition number. 




Moving inside the cabin of the MG6 XPower, it features green contrast stitching with grey highlights. The three-spoke multifunction steering wheel comes covered in Alcantara leather. While the inner door panels are decorated with high-end suede material. The large infotainment system is positioned right in the centre of the dashboard. The cabin also boasts of road-friendly, race-inspired seats with XPower logos. 




Performance-wise, the MG6 XPower is powered by a 1.5-litre Trophy direct-injection turbocharged engine which is further supplemented by a high-power permanent magnet synchronous motor that churns out 303 bhp power. The combined peak torque output from the system stands at 480 Nm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 10-speed EDU second-generation intelligent electric drive gearbox. Furthermore, MG claims that MG6 XPower can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6 seconds. In terms of the brake, the MG6 sedan gets imported racing-grade 920E 6-piston fixed calipers. The spring stabilizer bar and the revised suspension allow the car to sit 10mm lower than the standard model.
