Here’s a glimpse at British carmaker Aston Martin’s upcoming new Vantage. The British carmaker has teased images of a camouflaged test car, but its front-end and overall silhouette suggest that the model’s design is heavily influenced by Aston’s Vulcan hypercar.
The next-gen Vantage is built on a lightweight aluminium architecture, which it shares with the DB11.
Base variants will be powered by Mercedes-AMG’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8, which will put out about 500hp. The power is 64hp more than the current Vantage, which, in combination with the new car’s lighter weight, should make it quicker than its predecessor. Also expect its top-speed to breach the 300kph mark.
A more powerful V12 engine will be introduced into the Vantage range later. It will be a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 that’s found in the DB11.
Besides the Vantage, Aston Martin will add a DBX SUV, the Lagonda and a limited-run, all-electric RapidE to its line-up.
