BMW has revealed the latest avatar of its Z4 convertible sportscar. The production version of the Z4 will hit markets sometime in 2019. But, expect it to feature a more conventional folding soft top. BMW’s head of sales and marketing, Ian Robertson, calls this the company’s most comprehensive new model push.

The new convertible, codenamed G29, is being developed as a collaboration between BMW and Toyota, which will sell the coupé version of this car as the Supra. The two cars will be produced at Magna in Austria and BMW has stated that it will retain the Z4 name for its future model.

The production version will launch a few months after the new 8-series, which is due in 2018.
