India is reeling from Coronavirus outbreak with the government machinery working 24/7. 5,000 citizens are infected with COVID-19 with the death toll now crossing 120. With the lockdown in effect, citizens are now restricted to their homes enabling the government to step up the testing of citizens showing Coronavirus symptoms. One private lab is helping the government in this crisis by initiating a drive through testing facility for COVID-19 infection. Starting from yesterday, Delhi based private lab Dr Dang Path Labs will be conducting tests for novel Coronavirus at Punjabi Bagh in West Delhi.
A 40-metre stretch is converted into a drive-through coronavirus testing facility where only one car is allowed to pass through the facility at one time. For getting the test, the citizen has to follow the guidelines in practice for the coronavirus test. The patient needs to show the doctor’s prescription for testing as well as the doctor’s registration number. A government photo-ID proof such as Aadhar Card, patient Pro-forma request form with details of the patient’s car like make, colour and number plate.
The lab will enable the testing via four stations and every station will have a dedicated personnel to handle the procedure. Delhi based lab is allocating around 20 minutes for one test. On a daily bases the lab can attend to 30 - 50 patients starting from 8:30 am till 4:30 pm.
Citizens should make a note that testing would only be done based on prior booking. Once the appointment is confirmed by the lab, the patient will receive a PDF detailing the various guidelines for the drive-through Coronavirus test. Another important point to note is that only two people are allowed per vehicle with two-wheelers and taxis being banned at the lab drive-through facility in Delhi.
Once tested and if not positive then it becomes all the more necessary to sanitize your vehicle considering the possibility of picking up infection. For that we suggest to you, Germ Shield from Droom Technology. This germ protection programme stops the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria, algae, yeast, mould, and mildew that were generally overlooked by most of us. But now is a dire concern keeping in mind the Coronavirus.
