The Monster 797, Multistrada 950, Scrambler Desert Sled and Scrambler Café Racer, and the SuperSport will all be priced between ₹7.8-12.10 lakh.

The Italian bike maker has announced plans to launch five new models in India this year – the Multistrada 950, the Monster 797, SuperSport, Scrambler Desert Sled and Scrambler Café Racer.

At the top of this new line-up, and the most expensive bike here, is the new SuperSport. This bike is essentially the Monster with a fairing. It is powered by a 937cc, twin-cylinder engine that puts out a stonking 113hp. It will be priced at ₹12.10 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the standard bike, while the SuperSport S will cost about ₹1.5 lakh more.

The new entry-level Multistrada 950 isn’t as sophisticated as the larger 1200, but is an extremely capable machine nonetheless. It lacks some of the hi-tech electronics and suspension as the larger bike, and it even has a smaller motor, which has allowed Ducati to price it at ₹11.90 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) – nearly ₹3 lakh cheaper. This will help it compete directly with the extremely popular Triumph Tiger 800 series.

These two new variants of the Scrambler – the Desert Sled and Café Racer – will set you back ₹9.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). The models are ₹2.5 lakh dearer than the entry-level Scrambler Icon. The Café Racer is a throwback to the high-performance street bikes that gained popularity in the '60s and '70s while the Desert Sled is focused on off-road riding and has higher ground clearance, bash plates, a long travel suspension and even taller handlebars.

The most affordable bike here is the Monster 797, priced at ₹8.07 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) - it’s a couple of lakhs cheaper than the Monster 821. The new entry-level bike in the Monster range is powered by an 803cc L-twin motor from the Scrambler range. This motor puts out 75hp of peak power and 68.9Nm of torque.
