The updated Grand i10 to get cosmetic changes, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a more powerful 1.2-litre diesel engine.

Hyundai is all set to launch an updated version of its Maruti Swift rivalling Grand i10, details and pricing of which have surfaced. Hyundai dealerships are quoting a starting price of ₹4.58 lakh (₹13,000 cheaper than the outgoing model) while the fully loaded variant is likely to cost about ₹7.33 lakh.

Notable changes to the updated Grand i10 come in the form of a new front end, featuring a wider grille and new bumpers (with the front bumper now housing the fog-lamps). There’s also a list of new equipment on board. These include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system that’s loaded with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus top-end variants also get features such as a reverse parking camera, automatic climate control and a set of new alloy wheels.

The biggest news on the updated Grand i10 is the 75hp 1.2-litre diesel engine that will replace the current car’s 71hp 1.1-litre diesel. The petrol variants will continue to be powered by the outgoing model’s 83hp 1.2-litre engine; this engine will, however, be tuned for better fuel economy.

Along with the update, Hyundai will also rejig the Grand i10’s variant line-up. The current Asta(O) will be discontinued in favour of a standard Asta trim, while there will now be a Sportz(O) trim and a petrol-only Sportz(O) AT.
