The car features an all-new exterior and interior; and comes with two engine and gearbox options.

The all-New Verna, which will launch in India on August 22, 2017 is based on the company’s K2 platform. The new car’s chassis is stiffer and it comes fitted with a new suspension setup as well. Hyundai also claims the new Verna features a better ride and handling combination than the outgoing model. The company also claims the car’s improved body structure will help reduce NVH levels.

There will be two engines available when the car is launched – a 123hp, 1.6-litre petrol, generating 245Nm torque and a 1.6-litre, and a 128hp diesel unit. Hyundai states that both have been tweaked to deliver better fuel efficiency than the earlier Verna. The engines come mated either to a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox.

The car will come fitted with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with audio-video navigation and voice recognition, eco coating on the air con evaporator (to reduce interior odour), cruise control, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, LED daytime running lamps and LED tail lamps, projector beam fog lamps, ventilated front seats and as many as six airbags on higher variants.

Hyundai dealerships have begun accepting bookings for the new Verna.
