The facelifted model of the Verna sedan will likely be launched in the Indian market by 2020.

South Korean maker Hyundai is gearing up to make major changes in its product line-up in the Indian market and one of the products that will receive an upgrade will be the C-Segment sedan Verna. The facelifted model of the Verna sedan will likely be launched in the Indian market by 2020. The facelift will be a major upgrade for the Verna and will overhaul the looks of the car. The facelifted model of the upcoming Verna sedan has already been spotted testing in China.

The new facelifted model of Verna will be sharper and more defined design-wise, it will also feature the latest aesthetic trend of the South Korean car maker and will carry an edgy look overall. Talking of the front the biggest change that one will spot in first look the black colour of the grille. The headlamps have also been tweaked and they kind of merge into the front grille of the sedan. This gives the front of the sedan a very aggressive look. The headlamps are stacked in design with different housings for projector unit, parking light, and turn indicators, these housings are separated by chrome lines and the grille itself is an upgraded version of the Hyundai’s signature cascading grille design. The bumper at the front has also been tweaked and the presence of a black diffuser makes it premium looking.

Moving on to the sides, one finds new set of alloy wheels on the Hyundai Verna. The rear also witnesses major changes on the facelifted model. The tail lamps are interconnected via an LED strip that runs across the boot lid. Talking of the boot, its design is also thoroughly new and the exhaust tips are integrated in the rear bumper. A black diffuser just like the front also makes an appearance at the rear of the sedan. There is also a silver insert running across the width of the lower part of the bumper.

The updated model of Verna sedan is expected to come with new and updated 1.5L petrol and diesel engines. Since the car will be launched in the BS-VI emission norms regime, the engines will also be readily compliant with those norms. Upon launch the updated Hyundai Verna will lock horns with familiar rivals in the form of Honda City, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Toyota Yaris in the Indian market. The launch itself is expected to take place sometime around the second half of next year.
