The latest edition of Duke 125 comes with an all-new design which is influenced by KTM 1290 Super Duke R

After much wait, KTM India has launched the 2021 Duke 125 at a price tag of Rs 1.50 lakh (ex-showroom), India. The new avtar is priced at a premium of Rs 8,000 over the outgoing model. The updated naked street fighter comes with 2 colour schemes namely Electronic Orange and Ceramic White. The motorcycle is aimed at younger buyers who like funky colour schemes as well as a distinctive design layout.

The new edition of Duke 125 is refreshing in design which in turn is inspired by its elder sibling KTM 1290 Super Duke R. The design per say is surrounded by aggressive and sharper bodywork which exposes its sportier geometry chassis. The two-wheeler misses out on an LED headlight as it offers an halogen unit seen on the Duke 200. It sits on a completely new, bolt-on rear subframe. The new 125 Duke comes with a larger fuel tank of 13.5-litres which is an incease over the outgoing model that provided a fuel tank capacity of 11.0-litres. Engineers have worked on improving the ergonomics to give a more authoritative riding experience for the user thanks to the revamped rider and pillion seats.

In terms of features, the two-wheeler stands to provide an LCD instrument cluster but without BlueTooth connectivity. Talking about the performance of the bike, it is powered by a 125cc liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine. This powertrain produces a maximum power output of 14.5 bhp @9,250rpm with 12 Nm of peak torque @8,000rpm. It comes paired to 6-speed transmission. As for the suspension, there are 43 mm USD forks up front along with 10-step adjustable mono-shock towards the rear. Braking duties are taken care by a 300 mm disc in the front and a 230 mm disc at the rear. Further, the bike is equipped with Single Channel ABS sourced from Bosch as standard.

“Spawned from the 1290 beast itself and packed full of Duke attitude, the KTM 125 DUKE exudes qualities never seen in this category before. The ultra-lightweight trellis frame and subframe provide razor-sharp control, and the new styling is an absolute head turner. The launch of KTM 125 DUKE in late 2018 had been a point of inflection for KTM’s stronghold amongst the young biking enthusiasts in India. Upgrading that model with this new all capable entry-level KTM is another testimony of the brand’s commitment to bringing pure performance to its valued customers”, commented Sumeet Narang, President (Probiking) at Bajaj Auto Ltd at the time of the launch.
