Prices for the new Discovery start at ₹68.05 lakh, while the top-of-the-line First Edition diesel variant goes up to ₹1.03 crore.

Land Rover has introduced its seven-seat Discovery in an all-new avatar. Prices for the same start at ₹68.05 lakh, while the range-topping First Edition diesel trim costs ₹1.03 crore.

Engines options for the SUV include a 340hp, 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 and a 258hp 3.0-litre V6 diesel. Both motors get all-wheel drive and are mated to eight-speed automatic gearboxes.

Equipment on board includes a heads-up display, two sunroofs, JLR’s latest InControl infotainment system with a 10-inch display paired to a six-speaker audio system, parallel-park assist, and a 360-degree camera; Terrain Response 2 system is optional. The fully loaded HSE variant adds the InControl TouchPro infotainment system, 17-speaker Meridian Audio system, as many as up nine USB ports, heated seats, and an in-car 3G Wi-Fi hotspot to the features list.

JLR is keen on pushing petrol-powered models in India, which is evident given that the base diesel variant is a good Rs 10 lakh costlier than the entry-level petrol model.
The Land Rover Discovery rivals the likes of the BMW X5 and the Mercedes-Benz GLE.
