The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift has been spotted in India for the first time by our friends at Motorbeam. The updated hatchback was launched in several international markets last year and it was a matter of a few months before the Swift facelift launches in India. Recently, a few units of the facelifted version of the hatchback were seen in Gujarat with partial camouflage at the front fascia. The 2021 Maruti Swift facelift is expected to launch in March this year in the Indian market with price starting at Rs 5.50 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).
Looking at the spy-images, the facelifted model doesn't seem to have received a lot of updates. The front grille is hidden as it has been restyled in accordance with the global version. It will be complimented by chrome accents all around. However, the front bumper and fog lamps appear identical to the present iteration of the hatchback. The spotted mule flaunts a dual-tone paint scheme with black roof. The company might introduce the alloy wheels on higher variants in a new design. As for the cabin, the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will boast of an updated version of the touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. Maruti Suzuki might also offer a 360-degree camera for reverse parking, as it is already on offer with the global version.
Mechanically, the 2021 Maruti Swift facelift will be powered by the same naturally aspirated 1.2L petrol engine, albeit with a mild hybrid system and an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG). The engine is expected to belt out 90bhp and 113Nm as the ongoing model while linked to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. It will also be offered with an AMT gearbox. As for the diesel engine, we don't see any possibility in the near future as the company has shifted its focus on petrol, CNG and electric vehicles for the Indian market. Maruti Swift takes on the likes of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios and Tata Tiago while being locally manufactured at the brand's production facility in Gujarat.
