Maserati has introduced its latest sports car, the new-generation GranCabrio. The new car is based on the GranTurismo, and it retains several of its design elements from its coupe sibling, including the same interior layout. The Maserati GranTurismo is scheduled to be launched in India in 2024. The auto giant is expected to launch the new GranCabrio in the Indian market sometime in 2025.
The GranCabrio comes with a convertible fabric roof, which makes it 100 kg heavier than the GranTurismo. The roof can be opened in 14 seconds and closed in 16 seconds through the central touchscreen interface, with a speed of up to 50 kmph. The roof is available in five different shades. Although there are six exterior color options for the new model, the Maserati Fuoriserie customization program will offer a wide selection of 26 unique shades as well as the opportunity to customize the vehicle with unique materials.
The GranCabrio retains the oval grille, vertical headlights, and air intake from its sibling, the GranTurismo. The new sports car is low-slung, and it has an elongated hood with air vents. The brand’s latest offering is dedicated to car enthusiasts who look for both comfort and style.

Inside the cabin, the GranCabrio houses two touchscreen displays: one is for climate control, while the other works as the central infotainment display. To make driving more comfortable for riders, the auto giant is also offering a neck warmer that can be adjusted and operated at three different intensities. The car comes with a digital instrument display.
Under the hood, powering the car is a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine that produces 535 bhp of power and peak torque of 650 Nm. The GranCabrio can go from 0-100 kmph in just 3.6 seconds, and it has a top speed of 316 kmph. The new car is available in four drive modes: Corsa, Sport, Comfort, and GT.
In the Indian market, the last updated Maserati car unveiled was the MC20 in 2023. The Maserati GranTurismo is likely to be unveiled between April and June this year. Given that the company has retailed previous iterations of the GranCabrio in the country, it is anticipated that the new car will arrive on Indian shores by 2025. On its arrival in the Indian automotive market, the roadster will rival the likes of the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet, the Ferrari Roma, and the Mercedes-AMG SL55.
