Mercedes Benz has unveiled its latest offering, the new GLA, at the Auto Expo 2020 today. It could be launching in the third quarter of 2020. The GLA SUV presented at the event is a second-generation model and will attempt to make its presence felt in the entry-level luxury SUV space.
The new GLA has a coupe-like design that gives a sportier look to it with ample headroom and legroom space. Exciting features like free-standing infotainment display with advanced MBUX system to voice-activated concierge service are on offer. Plenty of driver-assisted technologies like active distance assist, braking for stationary vehicles, active steer assist, active emergency brake assist, lane change assist, active speed limit assist, evasive steering assist, blind-spot assist as well as collision sensing systems to aid in avoiding rear-end collisions have been incorporated for safety of occupants.
The new-generation Mercedes Benz GLA will come with both petrol and diesel engine options. The new SUV is 4,410mm long, 2,020mm wide and 1,611mm high, 10mm higher than the predecessor. It is equipped with radars and sensors to detect pedestrian crossing on the road. The model will compete against the likes of the Volvo XC40 and BMW X1.
