There’s also a V12 version due that uses the same 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 as the V12 DB11.

A test mule disguised as a modified DB11 (hiding the new Vantage underneath) was spotted testing ahead of its scheduled international launch next year.

The mule appears to be using the Vantage’s next-gen bonded aluminium architecture, first seen on DB11, as well as the future Vantage's suspension. Under the hood will sit Mercedes AMG’s 4.0-litre turbocharged V8 petrol engine that could produce around 406hp in the entry-level car and 456hp in the Vantage S. The unit is supplied as part of a technical collaboration between AMG and Aston Martin. The V8 version of the DB11 could now produce closer to 532hp.

There’s also a V12 version due that uses the same 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine of the V12 DB11. The car is still some way off from its official reveal, but insiders predict it could debut later this year.
