A heavily camouflaged test mule of new-gen 2020 Hyundai i20 has been spotted on South Delhi roads ahead of Geneva debut.

The new-generation Hyundai i20 is all set to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show which starts from March 5. However, even before the official debut, the images of the new hatch were leaked online a few days back. What's interesting here is that the 2020 new-gen Hyundai i20 has been spotted testing on Indian roads in Delhi with heavy camouflage. Recently, the South-Korean automaker announced the prices of BS 6 compliant model of current-gen i20 in India, but it is offered only in petrol fuel trim as the diesel version will be re-introduced with the next-gen model in and around June 2020.

Going by the spy-images of new-gen i20, it appears more or less identical to the leaked model of the hatch. Although, the headlamps are covered but the styling of the hood reflects the company's latest ‘sensuous sporty’ design language. The front bumper design is reminiscent of the new Elantra and Verna. The unit spotted on South Delhi roads rides on 16-inch alloy wheels, which gives the impression that it is a top-end model. As it was heavy disguised, the front grille was not visible but we can tell our readers that it will come with a huge 'Cascading' grille upfront. The rear end also resembles the leaked images of production-ready hatch. The cabin images could not be clicked but we already know that it will get substantial updates in terms of upholstery and features.

Mechanically, the new-gen 2020 Hyundai i20 will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel trims with BS 6 compliant engines. The petrol variants will draw power from the 1.2L naturally aspirated engine while the diesel variants will have a 1.5L motor at the helm of affairs. The company might introduce a high-performance variant too with the 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine as it did with the GRand i10 Nios. All the engines will be offered with a manual transmission while the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox will be exclusively available with the 1.0L petrol motor. The new-gen 2020 Hyundai i20 will be taking on the likes of Volkswagen Polo, Maruti Baleno, Tata Altroz and Honda Jazz in the Indian market with prices expected to be in range of Rs 6-10 Lakhs (Ex.
