Hyundai Motor India has finally unveiled the design sketches of the New-Gen i20 ahead of its official launch.

Hyundai Motor India has unveiled first design sketches of the All-New i20 today. The upcoming premium hatchback is all set to be launched in November this year in the Indian market. The sketches reveal that the Next-Gen Hyundai i20 gets a striking look with a more premium and connected cabin.

The Next-Generation Hyundai i20 follows Hyundai’s global design language - ‘Sensuous Sportiness’. It is further based on four fundamental elements namely Proportion, Architecture, Styling, and Technology. From these design sketches, we can clearly see that the car features a new hexagonal grille upfront. In addition, it also gets a pair of sleek LED headlamps with LED DRL's and fog lights housed inside a vertical casing. The character lines on the bonnet give the model a sporty look. On the sides, it caters to diamond-cut alloy wheels and ORVMs with LED turn indicators. The rear end boasts of Z-shaped tail-lights.

Talking about the cabin of the upcoming premium hatchback, it gets a horizontal layout with a stretched-out dashboard. Furthermore, it features a large 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is likely to come with Hyundai’s Bluelink Technology. The instrument cluster also gets a large digital display. We can expect Hyundai to equip the New i20 with a plethora of comfort and convenience features.

Under the bonnet, we can expect the New-Gen i20 to get the same powertrain as the Venue. A 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine along with a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol unit and a 1.5-litre diesel mill. As for the price, the upcoming premium hatchback will be slightly costlier than the current model. Once launched, the All-New Hyundai i20 will compete against the likes of Maruti Baleno, Volkswagen Polo, Tata Altroz, and Honda Jazz in its segment.
