It will be officially revealed at the Frankfurt motor show this September.

Renault is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the Mégane RS gets all the attention it deserves. The French carmaker has been releasing teasers from time to time, and their latest video gives us an idea about what the car would look like. Since it discontinued the third-gen Megane RS last summer, the automotive world has been eager to see what the new Megane will bring to the table.

The car will reportedly have a new set of bumpers (front and back), chequered-pattern LED lights, a centrally mounted twin-exit exhaust, or at least this what we can make out from the new images released of the car lightly covered. It sits 25mm lower and is 28mm longer than the old car, plus the addition of four-wheel steering is bound to give the driver better control. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, but a six-speed EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) automatic is expected to be offered for the first time as well. While European markets could get more of the manual car, markets in Asia will likely have more demand for EDCs.

For now, the outgoing Mégane RS, the 275 Cup S, manages a 100kph from rest in 5.8sec but the new RS is expected to break this record, making it faster than most of its counterparts. The car isn't expected to go on sale before early 2018 but it is confirmed that it will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
