Apart from prepping up for the launch of the Meteor 350, Royal Enfield has also been working on the next-gen Classic 350 for quite some time now. The bike which is under development has been spotted on a number of ocassions in the past. Recently, a test mule of the next-gen Classic 350 motorcycle was caught on camera once again. The prototype spotted doing the test run appeared to be in a near production-ready stage.
The spy shots which are available online reveal that the New Royal Enfield Classic 350 is similar to the current model in terms of design and features. The bike retains design elements such as a round-shaped headlight, teardrop fuel tank, chrome-plated rear-view mirrors, and retro-styled blinkers & fenders from its predecessor. Furthermore, the bike is also seen with a long and low slung exhaust that remains unchanged.
The next-gen Royal Enfield Classic 350 will see a change in its engine specifications. Being based on the company’s new platform, the bike is likely to get a brand-new 350cc engine along with gearbox, double-cradle chassis, and frame. Not many details are known yet regarding the powerplant. But it is likely that Royal Enfield will be replacing its traditional pushrod architecture of its UCE (Unit Construction Engine) with a more advanced and efficient SOHC (Single Over Head Camshaft) setup. This particular setup will make the engine more refined and smooth with reduced in vibration and enhanced performance. This new 350cc engine will make its debut with the upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 that is all set to be launched next month.
Its suspension and braking setup also remains unchanged. Suspension duties are carried out by conventional telescopic forks upfront and twin shock absorber towards the rear. As for brakes, the bike gets a disc in the front and drum at the rear along with single-channel ABS. Talking about the availability of the motorcycle, then we can expect Royal Enfield to launch the bike right after the Meteor 350 launch next month.
