The Chinese electric car maker is likely to launch the ET9 sedan in the initial months of 2025.

Nio has revealed its flagship electric sedan, the ET9, at its yearly customer event. The Nio ET9 is a pure electric sedan, and it will rival the likes of the Porsche Panamera and Mercedes Maybach S-Class. The Chinese electric car maker is likely to launch the ET9 in the initial months of 2025. The sedan is expected to be more costly than the Tesla Model S e-sedan; it is likely to be priced at $112,000.

The ET9 e-sedan will come equipped with a five-nanometre automotive-grade microchip developed by Nio and huge cylindrical battery cells. The sedan will also get a 900-volt super-fast charging platform to charge the car’s battery and ensure a range of 255 km in just 5 minutes.

The CEO of Nio, William Li, spoke about the sedan and said that it has attained a new height of tech development and innovation with the help of 100 Nio full-stack technologies. When it comes to design language, the EV takes on a new shape. The company claims that the car features a LandJet silhouette that, in turn, creates a poised stance. It comes with a panel on top, dubbed Sky Bridge, which runs from front to back, splitting the glass roof in half. The Nio ET9 has a sleek design, and it features a glass roof that improves its luxury quotient by providing more space inside the cabin. All four seats come with 24 patented technologies.

The Nio ET9 is a high-end electric sedan, and it has a digital interface inside. The large center touchscreen entertainment system is enhanced with an entirely digital instrument cluster. There is a large, tab-like touchscreen infotainment system fitted on the back of the front seats for the rear passengers. Nio has upgraded the premiumness of the electric vehicle by installing various touchscreen screens for both rear and front passengers in place of normal buttons.

At the front axle, the Nio ET9 electric is powered by a 180-kW induction motor and a 340-kW permanent magnet motor, along with SiC, which is located at the back axle. Both motors churn out 698 bhp of power output. The EV comes with a smart restraint system that detects severity levels, body figures of the passengers, and different collisions. It comes paired with an AT airbag inflation and seat belt tension adjustment system.
