Nissan India unveiled its subcompact SUV, Magnite last month in the Indian market. The official launch is expected to take place anytime soon where its pricing would be announced. A few of the Nissan dealers have already started accepting unofficial booking for the Magnite at a token amount ranging between Rs 11,000 to Rs 25,000. However, the official bookings are said to commence soon. Also, we can expect the deliveries to begin in early December.
Nissan Magnite will be offered in a total of four variants -XE, XL, XV High, and XV Premium. As for the price of the upcoming Magnite, we can expect it to start from around Rs 5.50 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base XE variant and go as high as Rs 9.55 lakh (ex-showroom) for the top end XV Premium CVT trim. The company will also be offering a ‘Tech Pack’ which is expected to cost around Rs 25,000 - Rs 30,000 extra. Talking about the ‘Teck Pack’, it will include a wireless charger, air purifier, ambient mood lighting, puddle lamps, and high-end speakers. It will only be offered with the XV and the XV Premium trims. Nissan Magnite is based on the Renault-Nissan CMF-A+ platform that also underpins the Renault Triber 7-seater MPV and the upcoming Renault Kiger compact SUV.
Under the bonnet, the upcoming Nissan Magnite will be offered with two petrol engine options. A 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit which will generate 72 bhp of power output. It will come mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. While a 1.0-litre HRAO turbo petrol engine is believed to produce 95 bhp power. This engine will further be provided with a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission option.
Once launched, the upcoming Nissan Magnite will be competing against the likes of Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon, Ford EcoSport, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and the Toyota Urban Cruiser in its segment.
