Nurburgring lap record broken by Lamborghini Aventador SVJ

The car beat the Porsche 911 GT2 RS with a record-setting time of 6min44.97sec.

Video footage taken from on board the new Lamborghini Aventador Superveloce Jota has shown that it is fastest-ever production car to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

The video shows it completing the circuit in a time of 6min 44:97sec, that’s 2.27sec faster than the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The time it took is just under 15sec faster than the Aventador SV. Lamborghini factory driver Marco Mapelli set the record time.

The range-topping car makes 769hp from its 6.5-litre V12 – 69hp more than the 700hp GT2 RS and 20hp more than the Aventador SV. The Italian supercar maker will officially reveal the Aventador SVJ at the Monterey Car Week next month.
