Official: Maruti S-Cross BS6 Petrol Bookings Start at Rs 11,000

Maruti S-Cross BS6 petrol will come loaded with a 1.5L 4-cylinder K-Series engine with next generation Smart Hybrid technology and 5-speed manual gearbox as standard

We recently told you that Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the S-Cross BS6 petrol on August 5, 2020 in the Indian market. Now, the company has officially started the pre-bookings for the crossover both online and at NEXA dealerships at a token amount of Rs 11,000 across the country. Maruti S-Cross BS6 petrol will come loaded with a 1.5L K-Series engine with next generation Smart Hybrid technology. It will directly rival Renault Duster and Nissan Kicks in the Indian market with price starting around Rs 8.50 Lakhs (Ex. Showroom).

With our relentless innovations, we are optimistic that the S-Cross Petrol will be yet another testament for our customer’s confidence and trust.” Being tested at Maruti Suzuki’s world-class Rohtak R&D facility, the S-Cross petrol is compliant with advanced safety norms including frontal offset crash, side impact and pedestrian safety.

The BS6 compliant 1.5L K-Series petrol engine already powers the Ciaz and Ertiga. It develops a top power of 105bhp while paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a 4-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. The automatic unit will be available with all variants of the S-Cross - Delta, Zeta and Alpha - except the entry-level Sigma trim. The next generation dual battery Smart Hybrid technology will come with Li-ion battery setup. Maruti S-Cross BS6 petrol will have no cosmetic updates at the outside while inside the cabin, it is learnt that the older Smartplay touchscreen infotainment system will be upgraded to Smartplay Studio system. As for safety, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and ISOFIX child seat anchorages would be standard across the entire crossover range.
