Okinawa recalled 3215 units of Praise Pro electric scooters for a voluntary battery checkup

Okinawa Autotech has recalled Praise Pro electric scooters over fire risk. An Okinawa scooter was recently seen on fire with its battery engulfed in smoke majorly due to the thermal runaway issue. Having said that, a total of 3215 units of the e-scooter have been recalled to check for any potential battery-related issues. Besides inspecting the battery, the technicians will also be checking for the damage and loose connectors. Furthermore, the dealers will be personally reaching out to the customers to notify them about the recall. 


Okinawa released a press statement stating, “in light of such incidents, it is holding the power pack health check-up camp for its customers. Under this program, Okinawa authorized dealers will contact customers and carry out the battery inspection at their convenience. The technicians will check the battery for any loose connectors or any damage. In case the battery needs attention, it will be fixed at no cost to the customer.”
