The much-awaited Ola Roadster electric motorcycle range has been launched in India at a starting price of INR 74,999 lakh (ex-showroom). The Ola Roadster launch date was previously scheduled for 2025; however, Ola Electric has now entered the e-motorcycle segment earlier than expected. After teasing the Roadster bike for months, the brand’s founder, Bhavish Aggarwal, announced the launch of the new Roadster models on August 15, 2024. The new Roadster Series comprises three models, including the Roadster, the Roadster X, and the Roadster Pro.
Ola Electric’s first-ever electric bike series is based on the Gen 3 platform. As of now, the company retails the highest number of e-scooters in the country. Bookings for the new Ola Roadster series are currently open, whereas deliveries are scheduled to start in January 2025.

In the new Ola Roadster lineup, the Roadster X model turns out to be the most affordable version of the three. The electric bike comes equipped with a 2.5 kWh battery set, and it provides a certified range of 200 km on one charge. It has a top speed of 124 km/h. According to the company, the Ola Roadster X can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, which makes it the fastest electric motorcycle in the segment. The e-motorcycle features a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and rolls on 18-inch alloy wheels.
The mid-Roadster variant draws power from a 13 KW motor. It is being offered with three battery trims, including 4.5 kWh, 3.5 kWh, and 6 kWh. The new e-motorcycle can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2 seconds (6 kWh). It has a certified range of 579 km on one charge and rolls on diamond-cut alloy wheels. Additionally, the Roadster e-bike features a bigger 7-inch touchscreen. The Ola Roadster’s top speed is measured at 126 kmph. There are four riding modes on offer: Hyper, Normal, Sports, and Eco.

On the other hand, the Ola Roadster Pro electric motorcycle launched with an electric motor, can be had with two battery pack options: 8 kWh and 16 kWh. The motor provides a peak power output of 52 kW and a peak torque of 105 Nm. The 16-kWh battery set allows the e-bike to sprint from 0 to 40 kmph in just 1.2 seconds. The motorcycle has a top speed of 194 kmph and a certified range of 579 km.
The company held the long-awaited Sankalp 2024 event at its future factory in Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, on this Independence Day. Apart from introducing the new Roadster Series, Ola also revealed the new Gen-3 platform, the locally developed Bharat 4680 cell and battery pack, and MoveOS 5.
The Founder and CMD at Ola Electric, Bhavish Aggarwal, said, “Today, two-thirds of India’s 2W market consists of motorcycles, and with Ola’s entry into this segment, EV penetration is poised to further accelerate in the Indian 2W segment. We have already been successful in accelerating the EV adoption in the scooter segment, and with our futuristic portfolio of products, we are now focused on supercharging the EV penetration through our motorcycles. Coupled with the integration of our cells in our vehicles starting early next year, we are determined to chart a new course for mass EV adoption across India.”
