After launching the Hybrid Kinetic H600 luxury sedan at the Geneva motor show this year, Pininfarina has unveiled two more models that it designed for the Hybrid Kinetic Group at the Shanghai motor show. The five-seater K550 and seven-seater K750 SUV. Both embody the stylish looks and practicality we have come to expect from the global design house.
According to Pininfarina CEO, Silvio Pietro Angori these cars are a perfect example of a timeless Italian design coupled with greener technology for a better tomorrow. He added, "We are very proud to present in Shanghai a new family of cars born from the collaboration between Pininfarina and Hybrid Kinetic Group. These three cars express the Pininfarina know-how and skills which are perfect for the Chinese market: style research and development aimed at defining a timeless beauty in the best tradition of Italian style. Moreover, we give shape to HK technology combining design with environmental sustainability.”
The cars look stylish, minimal and futuristic. The Hybrid Kinetic Group is quickly recognising the need for fast, sustainable technology on the roads and plans to further explore the field of clean energy. "The Hybrid Kinetic Group recognises the needs for energy security, environmental protection, and the massive development potential of clean energy cars. We are dedicated to the development of luxury clean energy vehicles with full intellectual property rights. Our endeavour pushes the development of the Chinese automobile industry, benefits the people, ushers in a sustainable future, and helps create a more harmonious society,” said Xu Jianguo, president and CEO of the Hybrid Kinetic Group. Both companies will spend a considerable amount of time ensuring that the production process is smooth so we can expect the SUVs to make their way to the market in the next four years. A collaboration worth 65 million Euros has been worked out between the two companies.
K750, the 7-seater has a reworked bumper as compared to the K550, but the interiors have a lot in common with the H600. the K750 is upholstered with dark brown Alcantara upholstery and the K550 is fitted with Ice Tone Alcantara covering.
