Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo will be launched in Europe in mid-2021

Porsche has unveiled its latest electric sports car, Taycan Cross Turismo globally. The new model will be offered in a total of four variants - Taycan 4 Cross Turismo, Taycan 4S Cross Turismo, Taycan Turbo Cross Turismo, and the Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo. Besides these, it will also offer more headroom space for rear seat occupants along with a luggage compartment of 1200-litres. The new model will go on sale in Europe by mid-2021. Porsche is likely to target 5 large markets - the US, the UK, Norway, the Netherlands, and Germany, for the Taycan Cross Turismo. Talking about the price, we can expect it to start at 93,635 Euros.

Design-wise, the new Taycan Cross Turismo is based on the Mission E Cross Turismo concept that was showcased at the Geneva International Motor Show held back in 2018. The model comes equipped with off-road design elements such as wheel arch trims and unique lower aprons at the front, rear & side sills. In addition, it gets special flaps at the corners of the front & rear bumpers and at the end of the sills. Besides these, it also features the glass-effect Porsche lettering in the light bar. Another feature highlight is the option of a bike carrier that can accommodate up to three bicycles. Also, the tailgate can easily be opened and closed while fully loaded.

Moving into the cabin of the Taycan Cross Turismo, the dashboard comes with wing-shaped upper and lower sections. There is a 10.9-inch display unit along with an optional front passenger display. Plus, it provides adaptive air suspension with three-chamber technology including the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) electronic damper control system which comes as a standard feature. The new Turismo also gets Porsche 4D Chassis Control.

“In 2019, we sent out a key signal with the debut of our first all-electric sports car. We see ourselves as pioneers of sustainable mobility: by 2025, half of all the new vehicles we will deliver will have an electrified drive – either fully electric or plug-in hybrid. The future belongs to electric mobility and with the Taycan Cross Turismo, we’re taking another major step in this direction,” commented Oliver Blume Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG.

Performance-wise, the Taycan Cross Turismo uses an 800V system. The standard dual-motor setup churns out 380 bhp power. The battery pack is a 93.4 kWh unit. The 4S trim develops 490 bhp power. While the Turbo Cross Turismo dishes out 625 bhp power which further makes it the fastest of the other three trims. Lastly, the Turbo S variant produces 617 bhp power. Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo gets a new Gravel mode that works with the air suspension and helps the car to elevate by 30mm thereby providing more ground clearance.
