The car will make 395hp and feature significant advances in structural engineering.

The New 911 will make power and feature more technology than the previous cars. The car’s internal codename is 992 and it will make its public premiere at the Los Angeles motor show in November. More 911 variants will be launched from 2019 onwards, including an advanced new four-wheel-drive Turbo, which could make 608hp in its range-topping S form.

The new 911 will be a significant advance in structural engineering, and it will see the debut of a newly developed platform which will underpin the third-generation Audi R8 and the successor to the Lamborghini Huracán. The three Volkswagen Group models will share key components and enjoy greater economies of scale.

As far as styling is concerned, very little has changed. The new car follows an evolutionary path, albeit with some subtle modifications over its direct predecessor. The new 911 has been engineered to run a petrol-electric plug-in hybrid powertrain as well.
