Pravaig has officially unveiled Extinction MK1 EV in India with its launch slated for next year

The EV segment in India is once again in the news for the official unveil of Pravaig Extinction MK1 premium electric car. The manufacturer plans to launch the premium EV sometime next year. The Made-In-India electric vehicle aims to disrupt the premium EV segment in the country. It will rival the likes of Mercedes-Benz EQC, Jaguar I-Pace in its segment. The two-door, four-seater electric car is primarily aimed at the commercial fleet owners. It will be available as a subscription-based model in India. The automaker plans to produce 250 units each year which will rise depending upon the reception it gets from Indian consumers. Pravaig Extinction MK1 will be sold in metro cities like Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai before making its way to other cities in near future.

Talking in-depth about the design, it is futuristic and stylish in every sense. Extinction MK1's coupe-like design and style somewhat reminds us of the Lucid Air EV. LED bars at the front and rear ups the style quotient of the EV. Projector LED headlamps and front bumper are the other notable design elements of the vehicle. Adding the ‘Pravaig’ lettering on the rear side makes the model stand-out in the crowd of electric vehicles. Inside, the Extinction MK1 cabin would be premium in every sense of the word. The cabin will have sufficient leg space for passengers to relax in the vehicle. Its interior images have not been revealed yet but expectations are high of it being luxurious.

The Pravaig Extinction MK1 electric car is powered by a 96 kWh battery. The EV will deliver 200 bhp of maximum power and has a top speed of 196 kmph. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 5.4 seconds. The manufacturer claims a range of more than 500 kms on a single full charge. This is way more than what the current EV line-up in India has to offer. Currently, Hyundai Kona EV has a range of 452 kms while MG ZS EV's range stands at 340 Kms. The newly-launched Mercedes-Benz EQC SUV delivers a range of 350 kms. If Extinction MK 1 delivers 500 kms as claimed, it can easily rival Tesla Model 3 performance variant's range of around 405 kms on a single charge. Pravaig claims Extinction MK1 takes just 30 minutes to charge the battery up to 80 percent. This is some stunning claim, to say the least, we would have to wait till next year for the production-spec model to confirm the same. No information yet forthcoming on the price so far.
