Jawa brand was revived in India by Anand Mahindra owned Classic Legends in 2018. The company currently has three models in their portfolio namely Jawa, Jawa Forty-Two and the Perak. Classic Legends had recently announced that Jawa Motorcycles crossed 50,000 sales figure in the country so far. This is an illustration of the brand’s ever going popularity in the Indian market with Prithviraj being the latest celebrity to be wooed by its design and performance. Jawa Forty Two is the entry-level model of Classic Legend in the country. The BS6 compliant two-wheeler was launched in India at an introductory price of Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom). The Galactic Green Jawa Forty Two bike spotted alongside Prithviraj comes in two variants namely single-channel ABS and dual-channel ABS. The former retails at Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom), while the later costs Rs 1.74 lakh (ex-showroom), India.

Talking about its powertrain, then the motorcycle is powered by a BS6 compliant 293cc single-cylinder, 4 stroke, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine. It delivers 26 bhp of maximum power output with 27 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes paired to a 6-speed gearbox. This mill is the world’s first single-cylinder engine using cross port technology. Suspension duties are taken care of by telescopic forks up front and twin shock absorbers towards the rear. As for the braking duties, they are handled by a 280mm disc with a floating calliper in the front and a 153mm drum unit at the rear. There is also an option of 240 mm disc for the rear.
