Renault Group has made an announcement about launching new 8 vehicles by 2027 of which 3 are expected to land on Indian soil. The brand is going to invest €3 billion or INR 26,398 Crore as an initiative towards global product offensive. Renault Group is now aiming to double up their revenue per unit sold outside in 2027 in two new platforms for markets outside Europe market as compared to 2019 revenue. These two new platforms will totally be a game changer for the company.
The first one is a brand-new modular platform, which is capacitated and is flexible enough to use numerous powertrains and power sources. This first platform will be consecrated to 4 different countries namely, North Africa, India, Latin America, and Türkiye.
The second one will be a CMA or Compact Modular Architecture platform consecrated to more high-end D and E segments. And this platform will be established in joint partnership with Geely, a Chinese car major. The latter will manufacture the majority of the brand-new car models, pipelined and well-planned.
The picture shared above is the Kardian SUV, which is the first of the 8 models that will be launched by next year in the markets of Morocco and Latin America. And the Indian market expects to get it later after that. In the strategic wake to reduce CO2 emissions, the brand is planning to inject hybrid powertrains for future line-up along with electric car models. Renault is already selling off the Megane E-Tech electric in Türkiye and Brazil. And it aspires to sell 1 out of 3 cars with electric or hybrid powertrain outside Europe by the year 2027.
The new Renault Group modular platform which is compact will be assembled in Türkiye, Latin America, India, and Morocco. This platform employs a flexible and adjustable architecture which will ensure a huge variety of car models with lengths between 4 & 5 metres with wheel base ranging from 2.6-3 metres. In contrast to pure electric powertrain, the brand comments that this brand-new platform is developed to accumulate everything from LPG, flex-fuel(E100), mild-hybrid advanced(48V), full hybrid, and ICE, for both front and 4-wheel drives. This will make designs of various sizes of car models around the platform. Likewise, the Kardian is a B segment compact SUV similar to the Hyundai Creta, the Niagara concept is a pick-up truck powered by a new E-Tech hybrid 4WD technology.
The second platform, or also referred to as CMA platform is consecrated particularly to the premium car segment in South Korea. These cars will especially employ strong hybrid powertrains and will be designed by the engineering centre located in Seoul and manufactured at the plant located in Busan. And to a surprise, the very first Renault Korea Motors vehicle manufactured on this platform is still under wraps.

Now, if we talk about the Niagara concept, it is an esp in the style of the future-approved Renault range to be manufactured on the new Renault Group modular platform. The boxy body, savvy design and chiselled details suggest the similar look and feel of Duster. The robust and modern grille is shaped like a mineral body with a 3D- effect. The letters wrapping and presenting the Renault badge name have a pixel-art finish. The headlight array is shaped like a sharp eyebrow. The pick-up is equipped with a prominent skid plate at the front of the model.
This Niagara concept with long-travel suspension, entra-high ground clearance, along with enough front and rear breakover angles make it optimal for treacherous off-roading. And this concept is covered with disguise directly inspired by the patterns and lines of Renault’s logo. The compact says its colours underscore the vehicle’s numerous features- light grey depicting technicity, yellow colour depicting sports-car edge, black background showcasing power, and green points reflective adventure.
This model’s powertrain is the E-Tech Hybrid 4WD technology and accumulates a dual technical adjustment: a mild hybrid advanced (48V) powerplant at the front and an additional electric motor at the back. The brand suggests that the Niagara concept is an augmented off-road performance 4WD car model. And this model is capable of handling half of your everyday drives in complete-electric mode, which substantially reduces CO2 emissions. Renault Niagara Concept previews the company's next international models, which will be launched by 2027.
