Renault Pavillion at the recently concluded Auto Expo 2020 saw some serious footfall and media traction due to its series of unveilings of new variants like Triber AMT, Duster Turbo Petrol and electric vehicles. Amongst all the unveilings by the French automaker, Renault Duster Turbo Petrol is expected to be the first to arrive at the dealerships near you. Renault will be in a prime position to garner market share in the Compact SUV market with the BSVI compliant Duster Turbo Petrol launch expected before the BSVI emission norms come into effect on April 1, 2020.
The Renault Duster Turbo Petrol will be BSVI compliant. The vehicle is powered by a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine generating a maximum power output of 156 bhp and a peak torque of 250Nm. Developed by Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and Daimler, the new fuel injected gasoline motor will replace the existing 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine. The Turbo Duster is expected to come equipped with a 6-speed manual gearbox and a CVT automatic transmission.
The Renault Duster Petrol is likely to feature updated interiors. This could include an updated 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, EcoGuide, Voice Recognition, Cruise Control, ARKAMYS Speakers, Auto Climate Control, Cooled Glovebox, Dual-front airbags, and Stop-Start Assist.
The Renault Duster Petrol Exterior gets a slightly refreshed design in comparison to the current generation. These design updates include red accents on the front grille & fog lamp housing, LED DRL's, Projector Headlamps, Duster nameplate and Turbo badging on the tailgate. Presence of 17-inch redesigned alloy wheels makes the SUV stand-out in the crowded compact SUV market.
Expected to be priced higher than the existing 1.5 L Petrol Model which is offered in the range of Rs 7.99 Lakhs- Rs 9.99 Lakhs. The pricing will become clear once the booking is made open by the dealerships in India.
Renault Duster Turbo Petrol is expected to compete against Mahindra XUV300, upcoming Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza Petrol, and Hyundai Venue.
Renault Duster Turbo Petrol would become one of the first turbo-petrol cars to feature a CVT unit and could be the most powerful petrol compact SUV in the market.
