The new Renault logo will be seen on every model across the world by 2024

Renault has officially unveiled a new design for its brand logo. This new logo is inspired by the four-line version of a rhombus adopted by the company in 1972. It was first showcased on the Renault 5 EV prototype at the Renaulution event in January earlier this year. The French automaker plans to apply the new logo on its cars from 2022. However, it is still not sure which vehicle will get it first. Furthermore, by 2024, every Renault model across the world will switch to the new logo.

Now talking about the new logo design, it follows the trend for two-dimensional logos that are popular because they display better than 3D designs in the digital form. Also, the new logo is the ninth iteration to use the diamond shape that the French automaker first adopted in 1925. Initially, when the logo was first introduced in 1925, it featured horizontal stripes filling the diamond. This design was later phased out in 1972. As for the current Renault logo, it was introduced in 1992.  Since then it has been revised four times.

“The diamond is one of the most recognized shapes in the world and in the world of the automobile. It is a simple geometric shape, with a strong, powerful identity; the challenge was to renew this shape by giving it meaning, new, contemporary values to project the brand into the future,” as commented by Gilles Vidal, director of design at Renault.

The new logo embodies the new wave era entered by Renault perfectly. Talking about the Renaulution plan, it focuses on clean mobility solutions through the research and development of electrified and hydrogen-powered vehicles.
