French carmaker Renault recently revealed it new offering, Triber, for the Indian market. The company claims that the car will be positioned as a versatile vehicle in the sub-4-meter segment. Renault says that Triber is not an MPV and will create a new whole segment for itself. The car will hit the road in a few months and is likely to be priced between Rs. 4 lakhs to Rs. 7 lakhs. Now, full details of dimensions and colour options on the new Triber have been revealed. This car is based on a modified CMF-A+ platform that has been used in several other cars from the manufacturer.
The new Triber is 3990 mm long, 1739 mm wide, and 1643 mm tall. This Renault car has a wheelbase of 2636 mm and ground clearance of 182 mm. The weight of this car is 947 kg and gets 1356 mm shoulder room in first row and 1330 mm in second row. The last row of seats will have a shoulder room of 1216 mm in third row. It has a front track of 1547 mm and a rear track of 1545 mm.
Triber will come with 165/80-section tyres with 14-inch rims as standard. However, the top-end model will likely get 185/65-section tyres with 15-inch alloy wheels.
Coming to colors, Renault will offer Triber in five options – Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, Electric Blue, Fiery Red, and a new orange paint scheme. This crossover vehicle looks very attractive and follows the latest design language of the manufacturer. What is attractive about this car is that the middle row and last row of Triber can be adjusted in multiple ways to make the compact MPV a 5, 6 or 7-seater car.
If you remove the third-row in the car, its boot space increases to a massive 625 liters. In the 7-row system, it offers 84-liter of space. In 6-seater configuration, the boot space increases to a good 320-liter. Renault will offer four modes in terms of seating arrangements – Life mode, Tribe mode, Surfing mode and Camping mode. If we talk of dashboard and instrument cluster, this new car will get an all-digital instrument cluster, which is a segment first feature. Others include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation support and Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Coming to the engine in this car, the Renault Triber will get a 1.0-litre petrol engine that generates a maximum power of 72 PS and peak torque of 96 Nm. The engine will come with a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT automatic transmission. The Triber has no natural rivals in the segment and hence it will challenge the premium hatchbacks in the segment.
