Renault Triber To Take on Hatchbacks in Market? New Info Hints at Same

Renault Triber MPV was presented in front of the public recently and the French automaker will soon launch the vehicle in the Indian market. The prices of the latest MPV from the brand will also be announced at the time of the launch of the vehicle and the bookings will commence before the launch. However, ahead of this event, some fresh details of the MPV have leaked on the internet. The new information hints at the fact that the upcoming Triber MPV will lock horns with mid-size hatchbacks like Maruti Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 in the Indian market.

The sub-4 metre length of the Triber ensures that it will benefit from the tax regime of the country and hence will fit the budget of many hatchback buyers in the Indian market. The Triber MPV comes with the capability to seat 7 people. Pair that with the high ground clearance of the MPV and it has some serious potential to upset the sales of some of the hatchbacks in the market. The design of the car is also very sober and the crossover inspired design of the Triber makes it a very unique looking car in the market.

As per the brand, the Triber is as wide as the bigger MPVs in the market and the second row seats of the MPV can also be slided and folded as per the need of the user. The third row seats are also movable and can be removed altogether as well. As already, expected the third row users will also get a taste of features like armrests and charging points, these nifty things will surely distinguish the Triber in Indian market.

Talking of the dashboard, there are a few interesting features present here as well. The dash comes with an all-digital instrument cluster, central air conditioning system, 8 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support and more. The Triber also gets class-leading headroom and boot space without the third-row in place. All around the cabin one can find a lot of storage spaces that will come in handy during the long trips or even short commutes in the MPV. The loaded cabin along with the large amount of space inside and the adjustable nature of seats in the MPV arms it with even more ammo to take on hatchbacks in the market.

Renault Triber will be a petrol only car in the Indian market but the company has not fully revealed the engine details of the car as of now. However, the Triber will come with a 1.0-litre petrol engine. The output for the petrol engine could be in the range of 71 Bhp and 96 Nm. The AMT version of this upcoming MPV has also been spotted testing, therefore an AMT is sure to be offered with the car along with a manual gearbox. The expected outputs of the MPV do make it less powerful than hatchbacks like the Swift and Grand i10, and to top that Maruti also sells the diesel model of Swift, something that Triber will not come with.
