River Indie Electric Scooter Launched in Hyderabad

The Bengaluru-based manufacturer has set up its first retail store in Hyderabad in partnership with Sri Rajarajeshwara EV Mobility.

River, an Indian electric two-wheeler start-up, is now offering the River Indie electric scooter in Hyderabad. In partnership with Sri Rajarajeshwara EV Mobility, the Bengaluru-based manufacturer has set up its first retail store in Hyderabad. The new showroom spans over 1,000 square feet, and along with the new Indie electric scooter, the brand will also sell several merchandise and accessories.

The two-wheeler giant had already started pre-bookings for the Indie e-scooter, and deliveries have also commenced. In the domestic market, the electric scooter is priced at INR 1.38 lakh (ex-showroom). River increased the cost of the e-scooter by up to INR 13,000 in January 2024. The two-wheeler giant launched the River Indie electric scooter in 2023. The scooter was initially launched in Bengaluru, but now the brand is aiming to expand its reach in major Indian cities. The electric scooter’s demand is high in Telangana, and the company is expecting the scooter to perform well in Hyderabad as well.

Commenting on the recent development, the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at River, Aravind Mani, said, “After the success of our flagship store in Bengaluru, we’re excited to launch in Hyderabad. The demand for electric scooters is high in Telangana, and the initial pre-orders from Hyderabad are a testament to that. Our goal is to establish the River Indie as a distinctive vehicle in the region, offering both style and convenience. Looking ahead, we plan to expand to over 100 cities in the next two years, prioritizing an exceptional customer experience.”

On the feature front, the River Indie electric scooter is loaded with a six-inch high-contrast color display, foot pegs, a pannier stay on both sides, a reverse parking assist, a center stand, and two USB ports. The Indie e-scooter has three ride modes: Ride, Eco, and Rush.

The Indie electric scooter features a 6.7 kW mid-mounted motor. It has a certified top speed of 90 kmph. The scooter can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in just 4 seconds. The River India electric scooter features a lithium-ion battery pack with a capacity of 4 kWh. The battery provides a range of up to 120 km in Eco mode. The e-scooter has a wheelbase of 1365 mm, a ground clearance of 165 mm, and a saddle height of 770 mm.
