Royal Enfield Motorcycles will be locally manufacturing bikes for the Argentian Market

Royal Enfield Motorcycles keeps on adding a new feather to its cap with every passing year. The Chennai-based manufacturer is making rapid strides in the Indian market on account of increasing sales and new models launches. Now, they are venturing further into the International scene by opening up a new production unit in Argentina. The South American country will be home to locally-produced Royal Enfield Motorcycles. To make matters more interesting, it is believed that the Argentina Police Force will be seen riding the Himalayan motorcycle. You would be rubbing your eyes in disbelief but yes, an image released on the internet confirms the same.

As seen in the picture, the Royal Enfield Himalayan is being offered in a blue colour scheme with the Policia insignia placed on its fuel tank. This is not the first time that the brand is associated with law enforcement agencies in the passed, they have served many police departments like Bengaluru, Delhi among many others. The all-women team named ‘We for Women’ were provided models like Himalayan, Interceptor 650 and the Classic 350. The Delhi Police inducted Royal Enfield Thunderbird while Mumbai Police Traffic Police got possession of 300 Royal Enfield 350cc bikes in 2017.

Talking about the performance of the bike, it is powered by a 411cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. The motorcycle churns out 24.5 bhp of power and 21 Nm of peak torque. The transmission duties are handled by 5-speed constant mesh gearbox. As far as the suspension is concerned, it gets telescopic forks upfront while the rear stands to provide a  mono-shock absorber.

The local assembly of bikes in Argentina is happening thanks to the partnership between Grupo Simpa, their local distributor since 2018. This is the first overseas investment in a production facility in the company’s modern history.
