Rs 1 Lakh Discount on Marazzo

India auto manufacturer Mahindra had launched its much-anticipated Marazzo MPV in 2018. However, since its launch, the car has been facing stiff competition from cheaper rivals in the market and is yet to register a remarkable performance in terms of sales. The average monthly sales figure of the MPV have fallen from nearly 4,000 to 1,200 units. The decline has forced the Mahindra dealers to offer massive discounts on the car to make it an attractive option for the buyers. A new report claims that M6 and M8 models of the Mahindra MPV are now available at a discount of more than Rs. 1 lakh. This includes exchange bonus of 40,000 rupees and free insurance worth Rs. 70,000. This takes the total discount package to Rs. 1.1 lakhs. In India, Marazzo challenges the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta that are not selling at any discount.

For the unacquainted, Mahindra Marazzo is sold in India in four variants: M2, M4, M6 and M8. The MPV comes with a single-engine option: a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel that generates 121 Bhp peak power and 300 Nm peak torque. The Marazzo built on body-on-ladder frame MPV but the engine is mounted transversely (east-west), making it a front-wheel car. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard with this MPV. To cope with the growing market demand, Mahindra is expected to launch a 6-speed AMT version of Marazzo in the coming months. To let you know, the same gearbox has debuted in the Indian market with XUV300 Diesel. Taken from Magneti Marelli, the AMT gets creep, kickdown, and hill hold modes. There are speculations that Mahindra is also working on a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine for the MPV. The petrol version of Marazzo will most probably be introduced in 2020 and comply with the new Bharat Stage 6 emission norms that will be enforced by the Indian Government from April 2020.

In India, Marazzo gets 7-seat and 8-seat options and both get three row layouts. This is the first vehicle developed jointly by Mahindra's North American research and development unit in Michigan and the automaker's Indian unit in Chennai. Mahindra will soon launch this vehicle in international markets as well. Much to the delight of car modification enthusiasts, Mahindra has joined hands with DC Design for customized interiors for this MPV. The DC-customized Marazzo will get first-class airline-style interiors. This interior package is priced between Rs. 6-10 lakhs depending on the level of customization. The starting price of Mahindra Marazzo is Rs. 9.95 lakhs in India.
