The All-New Tata Safari was unveiled in the country a few days back. Now the SUV is all set to be launched in the coming weeks. The bookings for the vehicle will begin on February 4, 2021. Thus, it has been leaked that the booking amount has been set at Rs 30,000. Interested buyers can book their SUV by directly going to an authorized Tata Motors dealership. The price has not been officially announced yet. However, we can expect it to be Rs 1 lakh costlier than the Harrier which retails at Rs 13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom) currently.
The All-New Tata Safari will be offered in a total of 6 trims - XE, XM, XT, XT+, XZ and XZ+. Design-wise, the SUV looks like Tata Harrier. However, there are minor cosmetic changes that have been made to differentiate the SUV from the Harrier. Upfront, the new Safari gets a new tri-arrow grille with a chrome finish instead of the 3D mesh grille. It also features roof rails with ‘Safari’ inscribed on them. The wheel size has been increased from 17-inch to 18-inch now. The rear section of the SUV provides major changes in the form of a new D-pillar design, a new set of LED tail-lamps, a large quarter glass, and slim fog lamps. Talking about the dimensions, the upcoming Safari is longer and taller than the Harrier.
Moving onto the interior of the 2021 Safari, it will be offered with 6-seat and 7-seat configuration. It will feature an Oyster White interior with Ashwood inserts for the dashboard. Instead of hydraulic steering, the new SUV will get electronic steering. The rest of the interior features have been retained from the Harrier.
The 2021 Tata Safari houses a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine under the bonnet. This engine also powers the 5-seater Harrier. In the present state, it churns out 168 bhp power and 350 Nm peak torque. Transmission options here include a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter gearboxes.
