The carmaker has begun accepting bookings as well.

The company revealed details of its India-bound S-Cross sedan and it sees a boldly redesigned new face. The grille is new and gets thick chrome surround and vertical slat. The headlamps are new, and top-spec cars get LED projectors and also LED daytime running lamps. The bonnet and bumper have been redesigned as well.

The car gets wider tyres, new two-tone machine-finished alloy wheels and new LED tail lamps. On the inside, there’s new, piano-black trim on the centre console, satin chrome accents and soft-feel materials on the dash. The central arm-rest gets a new leather finish and the touchscreen infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

There’s no more 1.6-litre diesel option, instead there’s a 1248cc diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology. The Ciaz and Ertiga use this engine and it produces 90hp and 200Nm. You get a start-stop system, brake energy regeneration and there’s an Integrated Starter Generator motor to offer a mild torque assist function. The new S-Cross may be more expensive than the previous 1.3-litre version thanks to its GST tax structure.

It could come with ABS, dual airbags and rear ISO-FIX seat mounts as standard. There are five colours and four variants to choose from, and bookings are open at all of the 280+ Nexa showrooms across the country for ₹11,000. The company will launch the car on 28 September, 2017.
