The SUV manufacturer Skoda has recently dropped a teaser for the new Elroq electric compact SUV, celebrating World EV Day. In Skoda’s electric lineup, the Elroq EV will be positioned below the upcoming Enyaq model. Skoda is all set to launch its new EV in October 2024. The teaser sketch gives away a few design details of the car. The Elroq EV will feature the brand’s ‘Modern Solid’ design, which is expected to be used in future Skoda models as well.
The upcoming Skoda Elroq misses out on the iconic butterfly grille. Instead, the electric car features a new ‘tech-deck’ face, which is further enhanced by a split headlamp setup. It features a sleek LED bar and a headlamp unit. At the front, there is no round Skoda logo, as it is replaced by dark chrome Skoda lettering. The Skoda Elroq comes equipped with a crab-arm signature LED tail lamp and a 2D Skoda logo with chrome accents. It will be rolled out in a new Timiano Green color scheme.

Based on the MEB platform, the Elroq will be offered with several battery pack options, including 55kWh, 82kWh, and 63kWh. It is expected to have a certified range of 560 km on full charge. The power output is also likely to range from 170 bhp to 300 bhp. The top twin-motor variants of the Skoda Elroq will also house an AWD configuration option.
Jaguar Land Rover's CEO says that the company is not looking for full-blown corporate mergers but rather alliances that will bring down the cost of developing technology.
