Skoda’s Octavia RS lot of 250 units has been sold out for 2017; next lot to come in 2018.

Skoda saw higher demand for its Octavia RS than it had supply. It sold out the first lot of the RS which consisted of about 250 units. The next lot is expected to arrive in early 2018.

The performance sedan from Skoda was launched on September 1 of this year. The car was priced at ₹2.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, bookings for the sedan were opened in early August of this year. The Czech brand says that it has a substantial back log for the car. The latest Octavia RS is the first RS variant of the Octavia to come with a 2-litre turbo-petrol instead of 1.8-litre turbo-petrol engine. This engine produces a healthy 230hp and 350Nm of torque. The Octavia RS can only be had with front-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic gearbox.

When compared to the regular Octavia, the RS has a reworked aggressive body kit. The RS also features blacked-out trim, 17-inch wheels and a rear spoiler. On the inside, the car gets alcantara interior, a new touchscreen unit, nine airbags and a park-assist feature. Currently, the Octavia RS has no direct rivals in India.
