Skoda will soon reveal its new Vision E concept at the Shanghai motor show next month, but before that, the company has previewed the concept. Here is all we know.

The concept has a range of up to 500km (300 miles) on a single charge and it could be called Aratan as Skoda recently trademarked that name. The concept is based on the Volkswagen Group’s new MEB skateboard platform and features twin electric motors that give it all-wheel-drive capability and a power output of 304hp. It stretches a full 4.64m in length and 1.92m in width and thus the car will have extremely roomy interiors. Skoda plans to launch four fully-functioning electric cars by 2025, as direct competition to the ambitious Tesla Model X when it makes it to production. The Vision E and its production version will use a newly developed lithium-ion battery pack packaged into the floor pan. Skoda hasn’t yet revealed its storage capacity. The car will be launched in China as Skoda believes EV sales are growing fast in the world's biggest market.

The interiors have a sleek dashboard with a 12-inch touchscreen, along with much more legroom. Other cool features include dash architecture designed with a prominent step on which the driver can steady their hand as functions are selected on the move.
