Located in Hansalpur, the plant has an annual capacity of 2,50,000.

Suzuki Motor Corporation has completed the construction of its new Gujarat plant in Hansalpur, where the carmaker will commence production of its cars from February 1.

The plant is located close to the Mundra Port, and will be used as a hub for both the domestic and international markets like Europe, Africa, and Japan. Initially, only the Baleno hatchback will be manufactured here, while the carmaker is likely to commence the manufacturing of other models at the facility depending on market demand.

The Gujarat plant is sure to enable Maruti to cater to the massive demands for popular models such as the Baleno and the Vitara Brezza SUV, which have tremendously long waiting periods. To further strengthen its production, Maruti will commence operations of a second plant in Gujarat in the beginning of 2019.
