After the launch of Suzuki Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250, the company is now gearing up to introduce a larger capacity Intruder. Since last year, there was speculation regarding this 250cc motorcycle. The Japanese two-wheeler automaker was supposed to unveil Suzuki Intruder 250 at this year's Auto Expo 2020. However, there was no official statement released during the Motorshow. Recently, patent images of the Intruder 250 have been leaked on a Japanese website. These images give us of what the motorcycle could look like.
According to the patent diagrams, the Intruder 250 is likely to get similar body panels as the Suzuki Intruder 155cc variant. Apart from this, there is a new styling element that is visible in the patent images. The exhaust system will look more simple. It will get a single header pipe with a catalytic converter that complies with the BS6 Emission Norms. The double-barrel setup remains similar to the one found on the 155cc. Other highlighted features will include an LED headlamp, dual-channel ABS, fully-digital instrument console, and backrest for the pillion among many others.
Under the frame, Suzuki Intruder 250 is likely to be powered by the same single-cylinder engine that is currently in use in the Gixxer 250 series. The 249cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, oil-cooled BS6 engine churns out 26.5 bhp power @ 93 rpm and 22.2 Nm torque @ 7300 rpm. The engine is linked to a 6-speed gearbox. It is also equipped with Suzuki's Oil Cooling Technology for smooth acceleration, high output, and low fuel consumption.
The launch of the motorcycle is yet not confirmed. But we expect it to be launched and manufactured both in India and then being exported to the other countries.
