Suzuki Motorcycle India launched BS6 Intruder in March earlier this year at an introductory price of Rs 1.20 Lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new 2020 BS6 model price is Rs 12,000 costlier than the outdated BS4 model. The company, in a surprising development, has hiked the price of motorcycle by Rs 2000. The new price for 2020 Suzuki Intruder is Rs 1.22 Lakhs (Ex-Showroom, Delhi).
Suzuki recently increased the prices of the other two models - Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF - by Rs 2,000 as well. One reason for the hike could be the new costs caused by COVID-19 which affected the global supply chain of components. For the buyers looking to purchase Intruder BS6, a Rs 2,000 hike won’t affect their decision.
BS6 Suzuki Intruder is sold in three colour options - Metallic Matte Black/Candy Sanoma Red, Glass Sparkle Black/Metallic Matte Titanium Silver and Metallic Matte Titanium Silver. The design is identical to the outdated BS4 model. Key highlights are edgier twin-barrel exhaust, LED tail light and DRL (Daytime Running Lights). It also features a digital instrument cluster, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, split seat and twin-muffler exhaust. The motorcycle comes equipped with Suzuki Eco Performance (SEP), which the Japanese motorcycle maker claims will improve fuel efficiency and smoother riding performance.
The 2020 BS6 Suzuki Intruder is powered by a 155-cc engine, which also powers Gixxer and Gixxer SF. The bike delivers 13 bhp of power and 14 Nm of peak torque. The 2020 BS6 version of the bike produces 0.4 bhp and 0.2 Nm less compared to the BS4 model. The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks with mono-shock and swingarm. The bike is equipped with front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS.
The BS6 Suzuki Intruder is more expensive than it’s competitor Bajaj Avenger Street 160 ABS, priced at Rs 95,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
