Ever since Suzuki showcased the Jimny there have been multiple concepts rendered unofficially by fans and the internet population. Now, Suzuki has gone ahead and officially revealed two custom concepts based on the Jimny. Both these concepts are set to debut at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon.
The first concept is based on the JDM model of the Jimny and is called the Jimny Survive. This model is powered by a 0.66-litre, 3-cylinder, turbocharged engine that produces 64 HP of power and 94 Nm of torque. The Jimny Survive receives design and modification considerations to look rugged and operate in extreme conditions. The SUV gets protection for the headlights, steel front bumper equipped with a winch and tow hooks, outer roll cage, rear window delete, and aftermarket wheels shod with off-road tires.
The second concept is based on the wide-body Jimny Sierra, sold in other parts of the world. This one is called the Jimny Sierra Pickup Style. This model is powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder engine that produces 100 HP of power and 130 Nm of torque. The Jimny Sierra Pickup Style has been visualized as an old-school workhorse. It gets wooden panels on the sides to achieve that old-school styling. It also features a body-colored grille, rugged-looking front bumper with tow hooks, and additional LED lights mounted on the roof. The rack on the pickup truck doesn't seem to be very large though.
Suzuki will also be showcasing the Swift Sport Yellow Rev at the 2019 Tokyo Auto Salon along with the two Jimny based concepts which brings in an all new yellow paint that'll be exclusive to the show car.
