The bike now features fuel-injection and sees a slight bump up in prices.

The company has launched the fuel-injected (Fi) version of its Intruder in India, with a price-tag of Rs 1,06,896. The version with the stock carburettor costs Rs 99,995 (both prices, ex-showroom, New Delhi).

There are two colours on sale - metallic oort/metallic matt black, and glass sparkle black/metallic matt titanium silver. The new fuel-injection system, according to the company, has six sensors that calculate the optimum amount of fuel required for better combustion, this leads to better fuel efficiency.

Sajeev Rajasekharan, executive vice president, sales and marketing, SMIPL said, “Since its launch, the Intruder has received an overwhelming demand with close to 15,000 units sold, overachieving our projected sales target by 25 percent. With a unique blend of premium appeal, coupled with futuristic features like ABS and now an efficient fuel injection technology, the Intruder is a premium offering in the cruiser segment, unlike any other.”

The bike is powered by the same 155cc, single-cylinder motor as the standard Intruder. Despite the introduction of fuel injection, the bike makes the same power and torque, at 14.6hp and 14Nm respectively. Power is channelled via a five-speed gearbox. You get disc brakes on both ends and single-channel ABS as standard.
